The Speech, language and Communication Framework
Developed by The Communication Trust, this is a free online professional development tool. This has useful training and online CPD activities for practitioners that develop their own knowledge and understanding about the topic. The site also has useful case studies.

The Communication Trust
This early years site offers advice about working with parents to encourage early language skills, speaking and listening activities to try, and posters to use in the setting.

This programme is designed to support children to enjoy experimenting with and learning language through everyday activities to help develop speech, language and communication skills.

This website has ideas and activities broken down into age groups from newborn to five years old, for parents and children to do together.

Tiny Happy People 
With tips for during pregnancy to activities to try with your toddler this website includes lots of fun play ideas to encourage children’s communication skills.  Includes SEND resources and activities for parents to try at home from pregnancy to age 5.

Talking Point
This is run by ICAN and has many resources, information and ideas about supporting children’s communication. The site also offers a free ‘I CAN Help Enquiry Service’ for you if you have questions.
