A carer is someone who helps another person, usually a relative or friend, in their day-to-day life. This is not the same as someone who provides care professionally, or through a voluntary organisation.

There are lots of services and support to help carers, and the people they care for. You can search for services here to find out more.

The service is for carers of all ages who care for people with any condition. It doesn’t matter how long they spend in their caring role. The aim of the service is to support carers, by offering individual support so that they can maintain their caring role and have a life outside of caring.

Somerset NHS Foundation Trust provide a specialist carers support service for people who care for someone with a mental health problem.

Carers Voice Somerset link closely with the County Council and the NHS to represent the views of carers.
