Domestic abuse is: ‘Any incident of threatening behaviour, violence or abuse (psychological, physical, sexual, financial or emotional) between adults who are, or have been, intimate partners or family members, regardless of gender or sexuality.’
It can include harassment, forced marriage, honour-based violence and female genital mutilation. You can find more information and advice on the Council’s Domestic abuse web page.
The Somerset Survivors website also provides information, help and support for anyone affected by domestic abuse in Somerset. It includes a directory of local and national services.
