Discovery Supported Employment help people find meaningful sustainable paid employment in Somerset.

We support people with Learning Disabilities and or Autism gain paid employment within their community. Raising aspirations and allowing people to explore all aspects of employment. We work closely with people completing a vocational profile and employability skills and support them with job search. We work closely with employers to ensure a match Job Descriptions with people and then set a training plan for In work support.

Long term employment presents its own set of challenges and that is what we do….Unemployment can be its own barrier work experience volunteering and project work can really help inspire motivate and support people returning from long breaks of employment or a history of no employment.

Working with schools colleges and residential colleges to support our NEETS looking for employment opportunities. Internships traineeships and apprenticeships with partners and employers

We have worked with care leavers ensuring a full circle of support with care workers social workers support workers and anyone else in their support network ensuring we are all working instinct towards the same goal.

This event will explain pathways to employment preparing for adulthood and what happens after school or college. I would recommend the session for:-

Individual job seekers

Parents and carers

Tutors College transitions officers

Community and or Village Agents, Social Workers or support workers

All other partners within the area. We collaborate with many provisions within the county and strongly believe it is the best way to ensure all opportunities are maximised
