The process of support for children and young people who have special educational needs and disabilities.

As instructed in the 2015 SEND Code of Practice, all local authorities must provide access to a free and impartial organisation to support families and children and young people with SEND.

IPSEA, the ‘Independent Provider of Special Education Advice’ offers free and independent legally based information, advice and support to help get the right education for children and young people with all kinds of SEND. They also provide training on the SEND legal framework to parents and carers, professionals and other organisations.
